I run a Forensic Accident Investigation,Analysis and Rconstruction business, based in Cape Town.

We are a two-man (or two-person) team, consisting of myself (Stan
Bezuidenhout) and Jackie Smith (my partner).

We specialize in at-scene accident investigation and post-event reconstruction.

What we essentially do, is go to the scene of an accident, interpret, record, measure and photograph all elements of evidence, and then determine or calculate the vehicle speeds, vehicle dynamics, directions of travel, etc.

We do this for the corporate sector, the heavy transport sector, insurance, court cases and National Government.

Contracted to Government's Road Traffic Management Corporation, we are one of four teams that would be deployed to some of the most serious accidents in the country.

These normally include accidents where there are five of more fatalities in an accident involving commercial or public transport, such as buses, taxi's, trucks, etc.

We then provide a very detailed report to the Government, which is forwarded to the Police for inclusion in the docket.

So - in effect, we are helping the SAPS with their criminal investigations by providing our technical services.

This ensures that our Government can made better decisions about accident prevention, that criminals do not walk free or innocent people get blamed, while we (as South Africans) can rest assured that there are people fighting to improve the situation in South Africa.

We also provide custom training, do regular presentations and assist the SAPS more directly for free as Reservists.
