The Lonely Road Challenge, where one man get on a bike and cycles from Johannesburg to Kilimanjaro and then climbs the highest peak in Africa is about to begin.
On Saturday the 30th June 2007 Thabang Skwambane will set off from Kyalami Johannesburg, on an unsupported solo bicycle ride that will cross six countries, cover a distance of 5,375km, and culminate in the ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro. His journey aims to raise awareness and financial support for the plight of Orphans and Vulnerable Children and he’s doing it alone. [5fm’s joining him on Kili – you can join him on the journey!]
Show your support for this initiative and affected children in Southern Africa by joining Thabang on the first leg of his journey and registering on www.thelonelyroad.org. It’s a 40km cycle, it’s R250 per cyclist and it’s the chance to be apart of something that’s bigger than all of us.
"A little bit goes a long way! Come on, donate and change someone's life!"
