So we’ve covered small gadgets but what about technology you can actually wear? Stuff that makes life easier and cooler while you’re on the go. We’ve had a look around at what’s around and at what might be available soon.
Aerial7 Sound Disk Beanie
The ultimate fusion of fashion and tech, this is Aerial7's Sound Disk beanie, as worn by international snowboarding sensation Heikki Sorsa.
Ultra Slim headphones slip invisibly into the sides of the beanie. You won't even know the headphones are there until you hear the awesome audio experience. Distributed by KNR Flatrock and available locally soon at most retailers where Aerial7 is sold.

We have 5 Aerial7 Sound Disk Beanies to giveaway – these have just landed in SA and are up for grabs here for the very FIRST time…. they’re very, very cool indeed.
Congrats to Dapri-Priyesh Kasan, Melissa, Nick Howse, Andrew Steytler and Natalie Brent. You've each won an Aerial7 Sound Disk beanie - enjoy!
iBangle

Wearable music. This concept product from Apple’s labs will probably take a long time to become a reality. It’s pretty amazing though - the clean functional design (typical Apple genius) offers the ultimate in portability and wear-ability. When activated, the blue inner band fills with air and expands for a comfortable fit around your wrist. A multi-touch track pad offers easy navigation and the audio links via wireless earbuds. Clean, modern design with high-end functionality - this looks like a product that could become a reality.
Nike+ Sportband

The Nike+ concept is still one of the coolest joint ventures between two major brands (Nike and Apple.) The enhanced Nike+ SportBand is super cool. It’s worn like a watch and shows you your distance, pace, running time, and calories burned. The info is transmitted from the sensor inside the Nike+ running shoes. The improved band has an improved watertight seal and comes in a range of colours.
Solar bags

We have sunshine most of the year round so in the interests of being green, and saving on your electricity bill it makes a lot of sense to invest in a backpack or bag that harnesses solar energy. That way you can carry, and charge your equipment while you’re on the go…. environmentally friendly and convenient. Check on the web for which bag is the best solution for your needs, ideally you want something that charges well and that is able to charge ALL your gadgets – cellphone, mp3 player and laptop for example.
Computerised Fabric
MIT Media Lab developed a musical jacket that Levis then marketed. If you consider how far tech has come even in terms of paper & electronics meshing then the logical step is smart clothing. Shirts that monitor heart rates or display graphics and text. Built in controls for musical pants etc….the list goes on. Naturally I’m guessing the tricky bit is the cleaning….. I can’t be wearing my ‘musical’ shirt ALL week…. Perhaps not the most practical solution but definitely something to be considered for specific events or situations. Graphic / Video T-shirts at a concert for example would be a super cool way of advertising and informing people.s
WIN!
We have 5 x Aerial7 Sound Disk Beanies to giveaway – these have just landed in SA and are up for grabs here for the very FIRST time…. they’re very, very cool indeed

To win tell us in the comments section – What’s the oddest thing you’ve ever worn?

Congrats to Dapri-Priyesh Kasan, Melissa, Nick Howse, Andrew Steytler and Natalie Brent. You've each won an Aerial7 Sound Disk beanie - enjoy!

Strangest thing i've ever worn (and don't say my name to loud lol), was a iBox :)..
Many guys like to wear boxers; however, they have no pockets even for the smallest things. If somebody wants to walk around only in his boxers on, and listen to his iPod, he will carry it in his hand, which is not very practical. So i got the iBoxers. These are simple boxers with a small pocket for your iPod, and that works perfectly with my wifey's iBuzz, it's a iPod-connectable vibrator that will vibrate along with your favorite tunes, making this accessory a fantastic music-activated sex toy. need i say more we love being in our undies lol. (don't mention my surname please). Awesome Poppy Awesome show.

I was once forced to wear a ice-cream cone on my face, blue tights and a t-shirt. I was supposed to be a bird...then I had a costume change, and had to wear a milk maid outfit...funny white hat and all.

The strangest thing i've ever worn was an 80's sweat suit!! This was one outfit I'll never forget for a few reasons..firstly because I wore it last weekend for a mate's 21st, the theme being "I got this from out my parents closet". It was sEXy!!
Secondly, I felt like a spaceman in because made out of silvery, plastic with one red stripe and one yellow stripe! It's totally rad! And lastly, whoever's worn one to actually work out in was deluded. This thing makes you sweat alright, but lose weight? I think not...way to dehydrate yourself!!
Anyway, thank Poppy for a lovely count down show, LOVE 5 to the MAX!

The strangest thing I've ever worn would probably be my belt which I refashioned into one of those leather straps you can wear around your wrist - with a buckle of course.
Looked great, and I friends dugg it - it's just a bit, you know - odd.
Peace guys,
Michael.

The oddest thing that i have ever worn is my sista's gymnastic leotard. Just to get a picture, my sista is 19 now and last did gymnastics when she was 12. I'm 22 1,78cm nd 57kg. So you can imagine me in her leotard, nd the best is i worn it to a friends 21 st this year. If it were'nt for my cricket B-box....well then i would'nt have anything left...

You wont believe me but let me try 2 explain. We had a movie theme day at school. So you probably watched Lord of the rings?? well....imagine Gandolf (The wizard) Trying 2 look like super man. I wore a red cape(shouldv been....well wizardy.lol) and the for my magic staff i took a cheerleaders stick and painted it green so that it could represent cryptonite.
So i kinda looked good. the only bad thing is..i wanted 2 be super man so i wore i red jockey(yes very tight fit indeed). My manly hood on the stage for everybody 2 see. So that would probably be the oddest thing i EVER wore.

At primary school,i used to go to school wearing shoes without socks, and just when i thought that was odd,a few weeks ago, last month,i wore my pants and went to school(i'm in high school now),whats odd is that i didn't realise that my pants were torn down there until i got to school. So i had to wear the pants for the whole school hours, and i also had to stay in class the whole day...

While we were at uni, mates used to come up with ridiculous 21st theme ideas. One of the best themes was 'anything but clothes'. Friends and I wore cling film dresses obviously with paper patterns strategically placed to cover all the essential bits.
Living in London for abit, listening via streaming audio, awesome as ever!

ok, i dont know if its considered strange, or just plain cruelty to a child but for a dress up party when i was 8 my mom decided to dress me up as a witch- not a princess, ballerina like the other girls - a witch! ok you probably thinking, ok a witch not great but its still fine- but let me breakdown the outfit for you: I went to a restaurant with 20 other ballerina, princesses etc in - a blag bag which my mom cut holes in for my arms and head to stick out. she then decorated the black bag with silver star stickers (you know the ones you used to get for good work done at school), made a hat from black paper which looked more like a cone held to my head with that horrible house hold elasticated string which gave me a nice threading hair removal session on my chin throughout the day. for shoes i had those ooba cool pointy boots with the lace ups from the front of the toe all the way up - no 8 year old should be allowed to own nevermind wear a pair of those! and to top this fantastic outfit made from a black bag and school sticker stars, was my broom stick! made from a rather thick log from the back garden with sticks tied to the bottom of it which i had to carry around with me for the day- not a pretty wand or cute handbag- a log with sticks tied to the bottom! Yes, that i would have to say is the outfit that has haunted me for the whole of my life - needless to say i was never overly excited when receiving an invite to dress up parties following that!

I was in a changing room after swimming & somehow my cloths fell to the floor & someone nicked it. the only item i had left was my sweater, seeing as im a guy i wore it as a shorts and walked out with my head up high to the closest clothing store.

I entered a competition, and I didn't know much about it, and so I received a call days later saying that I have won a watch. I was so excited until they told me it was a ladies watch; I then went to read more about the competition and I realised that I entered a ladies competition...
This goes to all men out there, 'read before you enter a competition'

when I was younger, alot younger, I was obssessed with Zorro, I had the hat but no kabe or mask so I cut up a black bin bag, cut of strip poked to holes for my eyes and used the rest of the bag for my kabe. Oh by the way my hat was originally white had to spray it black.....LOLZ

The strangest thing i have ever worn was to a friends "p" party -we had to dress as anything begining with a 'p". I went as PECULIAR.
I had candy striped 3/4 pants on with different coloured toe socks and slops. I then had a short strappy top on with lil pink flowers and peculiar written across my tummy.
Thats not all - i had done my face with different colours of make up - half on each side of my face (like a ying yang). i Also had half my hair up and half down with glasses on my head.
Needless to say - i looked peculiar - but everyone had a good time.

The oldest thing i've ever wore was my dad's blank shinny formal pants , its too small it can't even touch my ankles. Whats worse is we were going to church because it was Good Friday. Lol

Id have to go back to the rave days - what were we thinking?
I purchased some stripped curtain fabric and got my girlfriend's mum to sow me some flairy(you may mistake that for fairy) bell-bottom type pants. Sneekers were spray painted silver and the T-shirt was a size too small. The look would not have been complete without the the white woolen gloves(yip, the ones you stole from action cricket).
Styling hey.....NOT!

The wierdest thing I ever wore was at Woodstock Roos se Oort. A group of us decided to go swim, so I put on a friends denim mini skirt and mesh tank top, first problem is I'm a guy and at that time I had hair down to my shoulders. On the way to the pool a car drove past full of guys and one decides to wistle at me, I tell you when I turned around and he saw that I was a guy he almost had a heart attack! Was funny, but wont be doing stupid things like that anytime soon. haha

So the strangest thing i've ever worn would have to be a tree! Yes you heard me correctly! You might be finding it very hard to invision someone wearing a tree...but i pulled it off. It was for a themed 21st and i thought i would deviate from the normal costumes and rock up as a tree. Ya so thats probably the weirdest thing i've ever worn :)

The Strangest thing I have ever worn. Or you should say lost a bet. We were in Rome with a few mates. I lost the game and they had bought The ALI G swim outfit in bright lumo green with the wig and even bought hair to glue on my back and all around. I had to run up and down the spanish steps twice then run around the court by the fountains, This was embaressing with all the tourists around staring at me. This went on for 10 minutes at the steps until the police arrived. Then my friends made me go do it by the fountain. Where one of my mates came from behind the cut the swimming constume. which now i tried to run away from the tourists and hide in street until friends brought my clothes for was streaking, and its the last thing i would like to do. But before I had found the side street to hide i was chased and tackled by 3 policeman. Which luckily my friends came to back me up and said it was my bachelors. WHICH IT WASNT. Never again will I do a bet to this day. After that time in Rome.
Kind Regards
Jason
