Within seconds anyone can upload photos, video, audio and notes to create and share their own online space. Local, online and mobile social media community, Zoopy, are aiming to make the world a smaller place and have completely revamped their platform and services.

The ‘new’ Zoopy gives users a slick, quick, easy and modern experience – the fresh new logo and site redesign aside, perhaps the most exciting development is the addition of two new services: Zoopy TV and Zoopy Mobile.

Zoopy TV showcases video produced by Zoopy’s multimedia teams and gives users access to content they usually wouldn’t have been able to view. Our current bandwidth restrictions are set to open up so it’s likely that more South Africans will be searching for new, original, niche content so the Zoopy TV platform probably has the most opportunity for growth.

The most significant development (and the coolest) is the focus on Zoopy mobile, SA has masses of mobile users but many of them don’t use their cell phones to their full multimedia capacity. The sharing of pictures, videos and audio recordings has massive implications for citizen journalism, live coverage and mobile social networking.

Zoopy realise this and now just about everything you can do on Zoopy from your computer is also available on your phone by accessing m.zoopy.com. The WAP site also lets you watch videos at a download size that suits you and your airtime package.

The site is still brand new and in Beta stage but we’re keen for you to take it for a test drive – it’s really easy to use so anyone can take it for a spin.
