ARREST FOR GIVING THE PRESIDENT "THE FINGER"

POSTED BY KAZAKHMEDIC, FEBRUARY 17, 2010 08:40 PM | PERMALINK | 2 VOTES

It was with great sadness that I read about the arrest of Chumani in Cape Town for allegedly giving the presidents motorcade "the finger".

While I am in no way condoning the use of explicit language or signs, the methods and procedures followed by the bodyguards of the president does not fit with our constitutional rights.

According to news reports, he was jogging along De Wall drive in Cape Town when the presidents motorcade came along. He says he waved at them, however the bodyguards saw him give the president the finger. I will not debate on a he says they say with regards to him waving or not.
Then the black BMW pulled, three men jumped out and pointed their firearms at him, proceeded to push him into the car, put a bag over his head and took him to the presidents residence!

Since when does this action constitute a lawful arrest? The pointing of fire arms at an unarmed civilian is completely against the Firearms Control Act! Then taking this student to the presidents residence, with a bag over his head? Isn't that torture according to the Geneva Convention? Something South Africa proudly advocates and subscribes to! It seems we are headed back to 1964 with this type of behaviour.

This looks like the start of "nationalism", our flag our anthem our president, we make these things unavailable for critique, and if we do show any dissent we are committing treason! Nationalism in many forms are poison, it excludes people, and retracts from their freedom of choice, speech and expressions! I believe nationalism is where such anti democratic practice starts and will prove to be a fatal downfall in the future.

Once a country reaches the stage that we as the normal citizen gets our asses arrested for expression of opinion where on earth are we headed? It's a little to close to Marxism for my liking......

Amazingly, it sounds like oppression of constitutional rights. Its a mafia tactic to bring fear into people, and push them into a corner so they never question, never wonder why, and never show dissent to someone in office.

We're already at a lace where we're essentially a police state. Constutional rights are things that politicians wave in the face of the masses to keep them in blissful ignorance. The part that really leaves me flabagasted is that despite JZ having been accused of rape, fraud, and I am sure there are other things, he was elected to a position of power.

Didn't Hitler's reign of terror start in a similar way??

Now for the cherry on the cake on this. Said student is a card carrying current ANC member!

Constitutional rights are the things that the supposed political masters wave under the noses of the masses to keep them in a mental illusion of "elective power". Hitler did the same.

Unfortunately the masses elected someone with more than a tarnished past into power, and he, along with his moron accomplices like Malema (red sockses included) are ensconcing themselves into a position which only a coup will reclaim for the people to be governed justly. We get raped for taxes, levies and hauling the non-contributing masses through the mud, electricity theft is mental, fuel prices increse so the idiots in power can get fatter. Wonder what the daily expenses for the parliamentary dining room are, and on top of that they think that because they are in a position that they need to lead from, that they are ENTITLED to what they are not deserving of.

For those who cannot see where things visually seem to be heading, read the history books from about 1935 to 1945 especially in Germany. Same is happening here slowly.

Last I read the minister were complaining that paying R35 bucks for a full on meal at parliament was to expensive. They also complained that the gym provided at parliament for their use was inadequate and need a 3 000 000 make over. Despite the fact that it was made over 12 months before.... Not that it looks like anyone is using the gym there though......
