SANLAM NATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION - TIME RUNNING OUT

Time is running out for budding instrumentalists at primary school to enter the 21st Sanlam National Music Competition, scheduled to be held at the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre in Parow, Cape Town from 21 to 25 September.

There are four categories: Piano, Strings, Woodwind and Brass Instruments and Other Instruments (percussion, recorder, classical guitar and harp).

Medals, cash and other prizes worth more than R40 000 are at stake for participants and their teachers.

The closing date for entries is Friday, 24 April 2009. Auditions will be held in Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Pretoria, Durban and Port Elizabeth early in June.
