Ok, so to be blunt, you've been living under a rock if you haven't heard of Google Street View. They've been mapping the world with real snapshots from the streets using 360 degree cams mounted on cars. FINALLY South Africa Google Street View is here! It went live today and we're on the map!

Check it out here - search your address....you'll see your house, take a walk down the street and you'll perhaps spot yourself or your neighbours.

It's a photo-snapshot of a moment in time that is then layered over Google Maps....it's awesome. (Show your mom, she'll want to revisit the house she grew up in.)

Coolest of all is that it's in time for the World Cup and Google have a feature on the SA Soccer Stadiums (or Stadia if you're a snob.) Check that out here.

Taking snapshots of SA life means that you uncover some scary, cool, weird and fun stuff....Marc Forrest has created an awesome site called http://www.streetviewsa.co.za/ that showcases all the cool/weird/interesting SA stuff logged by Google Street View - you can submit your own situational pics that you find on SA Google Street View.

This is pretty damn cool....
