About Josie Field
Josie Field is no manufactured pop one-it wonder. With two albums under her belt, Josie Field is one of South Africa’s leading musical ladies who is inspired by anything from hard rock to the new wave of solo acoustic artists. Josie is first and foremost a songwriter. She has a unique, low register voice and a fierce stage presence that belies her normally calm and understated exterior. One glimpse of her live on stage with her full band should convince any viewer that there is way more going on here than a folk artist strumming an acoustic guitar. Tracks like Hey Man, 10 Years and Every Now And Then have epitomized the genius that is the young, talented and beautiful Josie Field
About The Black Hotels
The Black Hotels burst onto the local music scene in late 2007 with the launch of a five-track EP titled Beautiful Mornings containing the singles Natalie and Beautiful Mornings. Since then the band have toured extensively and played most major SA music festivals, with components of their sound being compared to Arcade Fire, Interpol and REM. In May 2009 they released their first full-length album Films For The Next Century, with the Star Tonight naming them the most exciting, original and authentic band in SA with 2009’s best album so far. The album’s first single Someone Stole The Light is currently play listed on local radio and TV stations.
