Not only is the one-time legendary fashionista and still-editor of Vogue (why, we do have to wonder)? Anna Wintour apparently an old bag, she’s also old news when it comes to knowing what’s hot these days in the world of fashion. 

The latest guru on the fashion scene? A very fun new startup called Shmotter (www.shmotter.com). Love it.

In their own words, Shmotter “is the exciting fashion community where members can design & rate outfits, build virtual wardrobe and shop for the latest fashion items.” You know that scene in ‘Clueless’ where Alicia Silverstone takes photos of her outfits to visualise them before actually going outside wearing a potential fashion faux pas? Well, Shmotter is the 21st century online equivalent – only better, because you get to visualise an outfit before even buying it! We’d have to agree with Mashable blogger Jennifer Van Grove that it’s a genius idea.

Linked to literally hundreds of hot hot fashion brands (big label and fashion-editors-in-the-know kind of labels) Shmotter “pulls together the latest clothes, accessories, and shoes from all over and gives women a place to build their own looks or peruse and vote on the outfits that other wanna-be fashionistas have concocted.” Best part? Once you’ve created the look, and had others vote on it, you can then actually shop online – a lot of these labels will even ship to SA which is quite the novelty (at a price mind you but nobody ever said anything about fashion being cheap).
