"Baby" is the lead single from Justin Bieber’s debut album, My World 2.0. The track was written by Bieber with Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and Terius "The-Dream" Nash" . Ludacris also features on the track rapping about his first love. Justin told Digital Spy that this is a song everyone can relate to. "I'm basically saying I really like this girl and would do anything to make her my girlfriend." Justin is a ripe old 15 years old.
“Give It Up To Me” is the third single from Shakira's third English studio album, She Wolf. It’s part of the bonus content that is exclusive to the re-released version of the album. The song features rapper Lil Wayne and was produced by Timbaland last year, originally intended for his recent album Shock Value II. The song is basically about sex and one of the lines, ("got this she wolf appetite that keeps me up all night"), namechecks the album title and lead single.
“Why Don’t You” is the first single of Serbian dance duo Gramophonedzie’s EP “Swingin’ With The Fishes”. It’s actually a retitled and remixed version of the 1941 Jazz classic Why Don’t You Do Right originally made famous by Peggy Lee. Other versions were recorded over the years by, among others, Ella Fitzgerald, Ashlee Simpson & Sinéad O'Connor.
“This Is War” is the title track and second single off 30 Seconds to Mars’s third album. Lead singer Jared Leto wrote this song in early 2007 and it was the first one he came up with for the album. Jared and lead guitarist Tomo shares the guitar parts on this track, with Leto playing the verse parts and Tomo on the chorus. Tomo has said that they like trading off with one taking on bit here and the other another section there.
"Last of the American Girls" is the third single off Green Day’s 8th album 21st Century Breakdown. Bass player Mike Dirnt has said he believes the song was written about lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong's wife Adrienne, who he claimed is steadfast in her beliefs and assertively defends them. Armstrong has said his childhood — he was raised by his five older siblings after their father's death, while their mother worked graveyard shifts as a waitress — was at the root of the theme of discontent expressed on this album.
