THIEVE'S DEBUT ALBUM OUT IN OCTOBER

Thieve - the new pop-rock band from Bellville, Cape Town - formed in November last year and have since been working on pre-production for their debut album. The wait is almost over... their album "GOLD" will hit the shelves on 19 October.
Although a relatively new band, the guys are certainly not new to the music industry. On vocals and bass: Andrew Davenport (formerly of Ashtray Electric); on guitar and backing vocals: Fred Den Hartog (formerly of Die Helde) and on drums: Philip Erasmus (formerly of New Loud Rockets).
Not only are the musos themselves experienced, they've received the support and backing of two rocking and established bands - also from Belville. The opportunity to record came about by the support of Jaco ‘Snakehead’
Venter from Fokofpolisiekar. He later involved friends Hunter Kennedy
and Pierre Greeff, from Die Heuwels Fantasties, who signed them to
their indie label, Supra Familias.
What to expect from the album: Catchy melodies, supported by strong guitar-based instrumentation and
groove - making their sound easy to listen to - and sing along to.
The band's upbeat single 'Last Day December' kick-started Thieve’s career when it first appeared
on Rhythm Records’ Bellville Rock City compilation at the end of 2008.
The video for this track was produced by Frieze Films.

The Biggest Gay Pride After-Party in South Africa - the 2009 VAWTER FIREMANS BALL – has announced the final star-studded line-up of Performing Artists & DJs for this highly anticipated annual event, which will ignite on Saturday, 3 October 2009 at the new super club; JET situated in Joburg’s North at The Coca Cola Dome.
In a first ever exclusive for the Fireman’s Ball, 5FM’s DJ Fresh will be gracing the party in full drag: “Many a time I have been called a Diva... Come Fireman’s Ball I will show you Diva and Queen all in one, live on the decks!” proclaims Fresh in solidarity with his gay brothers and sisters who joins SAMA-winner and pop diva Tamara Dey (from Flash Republic), live performer Matt Counihan and SA’s top DJs live on stage.
Apart from Fresh ‘glamming’ it up like never before, get ready for a few out-of-the-box surprises, including a live performance from Tamara Dey – who can’t wait to set the dancefloor on fire: “The Fireman’s Ball is going to be one of the hottest Parties of the year and I can’t wait to get up on that stage and Party with all the hottest boys in Town " says Tamara.
Popular international theatre performer Matt Counihan is quite secretive about what he has up his sleeve for his live performance, but he does reveal that “you will experience quite a few of your favorite hits being given the distinctive Fireman’s Ball twist. From Robbie Williams to Mika, no artist is too sacred for a make-over. Come let me entertain you!” Following the Fireman’s Ball, Matt will star locally and abroad in a brand new 2010 production of Grease.
Expect the unexpected with immaculate style and scathing commentary from Duchess the Huskapoodle (and her devious Ventriloquist), who will be greeting guests on the green Vawter carpet for live interviews on VAWTER TV – screened on plasma screens all over the Fireman’s Ball.
The year's top Pride after-party will set three floors on fire with the cream-of-the-crop, when it comes to a quality and diverse line-up of DJs: Join 5FM’s DJ Fresh, Sasha Martinengo, Erica Elle plus Grant & Anele, along with superstars Ryan Dent, Dizzy, Kevin Grenfell and Stuart Hillary; with no-holds-barred support from Qc2 residents Groove Element and Leroy Tayler (CT).
