Johannesburg, Monday, 22 June 2026 – 5FM is turning up the volume at the 2026 Basadi in Music Awards with not one but two powerhouse nominations, celebrating the women who keep South African youth radio sharp, fresh and unapologetically loud.

Boipelo Mooketsi, host of 5 After Hours, has been nominated for Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year, while Masego “Chresh” Tlhakanye, the creative engine behind 5 Drive, has been nominated for Entertainment Radio Producer of the Year.

Boipelo, who has spent nearly a decade shaping her voice and her impact on the airwaves, presents the super hot 5FM Vibe Check entertainment news podcast and now hosts your favourite late-night slot, says, “I am deeply honoured and grateful for this nomination. For the past nine years, I have dedicated myself to growing as a broadcaster and serving my audience with passion, purpose, and authenticity. While recognition has never been the goal, moments like these are a meaningful reminder that the work matters, the voice is heard, and the impact is felt. Masego, who produces some of the most electric content on South African radio for Zanele Potelwa, Nick Archibald and the 5 Drive team, adds her own fire, saying, “Three times a charm! To be nominated as Entertainment Radio Producer of the Year while steering the ultimate Drive Time slot is incredible. I’ve won awards before, but the Basadi in Music Awards hits differently… It’s women celebrating women, led by women. Shout out to my 5FM family for the love and support.
