Johannesburg, Friday, 7 November 2025 – After a sensational launch in 2024, 5FM’s hit drivetime show 5 Drive is back with a second instalment of its “5 Drive Gets High” campaign this November, and this year, we’re going higher than ever!

With hosts Zanele Potelwa & Nick Archibald leading the charge, the team are set to broadcast live from some of the country’s highest altitude adventures, buildings and structures – there’s no adventure too tall… and you as the listener are in the driving seat!

Last year, the team bungee jumped from the Soweto Towers (100 m), broadcast live from the top of the 151-meter-high SABC Radio Park Building in Johannesburg and the Alto 234 Bar at The Leonardo in Sandton (234 meters, the highest urban bar on the African continent) and went for a high-altitude helicopter flip at Rand Airport. And in 2025, YOU make the call about where they go next. Listeners are challenged to keep their eyes (and ears) peeled: stay tuned to the station, download the 5FM app, follow us on social media and submit wild-idea locations and daring challenges to 082 550 5151, using the hashtag #5DriveGetsHigh.

The 5 Drive team will also hit up four live broadcasts from location, each one bigger and more daring than the last and where the team will be “getting high” in more ways than one. We’re starting with a live broadcast from the top of Table Mountain on 7 November.
