Johannesburg \u2013 Friday, 3 October 2025 - This October, 5FM turns a legendary 5 decades BOLD, and the station celebrating a legacy of shaping South Africa\u2019s music, culture and youth identity with a birthday month unlike any other. Themed \u201c5 Decades of 5\u201d, the celebrations will fuse nostalgia with the future, honouring the sounds and icons that defined \u2013 and continue to shape and Ampli5 - Mzansi\u2019s youth moversand shakers.<\/p>\n
At the heart of the celebrations are three banging club parties that\u2019ll blast party animals through thepast 5 decades\u2019 biggest styles and tunes - from the disco and funk, to pop icons and synth-drivenanthems, to gritty rock, hip-hop, and house culture, the global pop crossover and Y2K dance floorenergy of the 2000s\u2026 all the way through to the amapiano, Afrobeats, and EDM that have put South Africa on the global stage today\u2013 all reimagined to make the decks, lights, screens and dance floor sizzle.<\/p>\n
